The Eden Project, near St. Austell
Holiday cottage Cornwall close to the Eden Project. Hailed as 'Eighth Wonder of the World' the Eden Project has become the 'must see' attraction in Cornwall. The gigantic global garden, the size of thirty football pitches, is designed to tell the fascinating story of man's relationship with, and dependence upon, plants and is set in a breathtaking 35 acre crater.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey
Heligan, seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years, is one of the most mysterious estates in England. At the end of the nineteenth century its thousand acres were at their zenith, but only a few years later bramble and ivy were already drawing a green veil over this "Sleeping Beauty". After decades of neglect, the devastating hurricane of 1990 should have consigned the Lost Gardens of Heligan to a footnote in history.
The Monkey Sanctuary (within walking distance)
The Monkey Sanctuary is situated in beautiful woodlands overlooking Looe Bay. For nearly 40 years the Victorian House & Gardens have been home to a colony of woolly monkeys. Watch a colony of Amazonian Woolly Monkeys in their extensive territory.
National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth

Looe Golf Course, 1½ miles
 Designed by six - times open champion, Harry Vardon, Looe Golf Club is set around an area of quite breathtaking beauty. The panoramic views from the course are stunning: to the east are the peaks of Dartmoor and the Tamar estuary, to the south, Looe Island and the channel, to the west and north, glorious countryside and the Cornish moors.
Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary
There's a warm welcome for everyone who enjoys and appreciates animals and the countryside. Take a look at some familiar animals and some different ones too. Make close contact with rabbits, guinea pigs and goats, feed the ducks, chickens and deer, or just simply sit and watch.
Carnglaze Slate Caverns
Carnglaze Slate Caverns are a popular all weather tourist attraction, a booklet on the history of Carnglaze is available in the gift shop which also sells unique hand-crafted items from the slate craft workshop.
Crealy Adventure Park

Magnificent Music Machines

National Trust properties

Cotehele House and Quay, near Saltash
In the woods above the tidal River Tamar nestles Cotehele, built by the Edgcumbes in Tudor times. It is a house of many stories, myths and legends.
Lanhydrock House and Gardens, Bodmin
Lanhydrock is the perfect historic country house and estate. Explore the high-Victorian interiors of this wealthy but unpretentious family home, and discover evidence of the Robartes family all around the house.
Antony House and Gardens, near Torpoint
Faced in silver-grey Pentewan stone and flanked by colonnaded wings of mellow brick, this classically beautiful house is a beguiling mixture of the formal and informal, the venerable and the modern.
Mount Edgcumbe House and Park, near Torpoint
Mount Edgcumbe House is the former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Set in Grade I Cornish Gardens within 865 acres Country Park on the Rame Peninsula, South East Cornwall.

Looe and Polperro

Close by are the historic fishing towns of Looe and Polperro. Rich in salty atmosphere, their harbours are busy with colourful working boats. Early risers can visit the market at Looe where fish merchants choose the freshest fish for tables all over the country. There is a choice of cafés and restaurants, many specialising in local fish dishes, and a full range of shops, galleries, and small town facilities.

Millendreath Beach

Thread your way through peaceful lanes with high-sided hedges studded with colourful wild flowers to the safe sandy bathing beach at Millendreath. Venture a little further along the South West Coast Path and you’ll reach the historic fishing town of Looe.

Bodigga Cliff

With its spectacular cliff-top views, this is a great spot for a picnic! See local fishing boats plying the waters around Looe and Polperro, and vast naval vessels passing on their way to and from the naval base at Devonport.

Plymouth

The bustling maritime city of Plymouth is only a short journey away, and offers shops, theatres and cinemas, and the acclaimed National Marine Aquarium.

Seaton Countryside Park

A gentle walk through winding rural lanes and a wooded valley takes you to Seaton Countryside Park. This designated nature reserve offers a range of habitats including ancient woodland, pasture and picturesque riverside. And there’s a grassed picnic area, a butterfly garden, and children’s activity park. Close by is a beach with rock pools for the children to explore.
